Berlin, Germany — Astrid Menze (MFA 2010) is featured in the latest issue of Prolog-Heft für Zeichnung und Text, a journal dedicated to drawing and writing.
Prolog-Heft für Zeichnung und Text NO. X2, subtitled BERLIN, presents drawings and collages alongside poems and prose by more than 50 Berlin-based artists and writers. The issue includes an interview with Karin Wagner, founder of Artist magazine, as well as an article on ‘zines, small self-published circulations. Prolog will mark the release of its second installment with an exhibition and reading series at Institut für Alles Mögliche from June 20 through June 22, 2014.
Astrid Menze is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice focuses on time-based media, specifically exploring the potentials of irregularity and system error. She studied Audiovisual Media at Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam and the San Francisco Art Institute (BFA 1999) and earned a MFA in New Media at Transart Institute in 2010. Menze teaches film history and theory at DEKRA Akademie Berlin as well as montage at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles and Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas under the auspices of Akademie für Internationale Bildung Bonn.
