Honi Ryan solo show INSTANCE at Blue Mountains Cultural Centre

INSTANCE is an installation of recent works and performances using the domestic environment as a catalyst for exploration. Honi Ryan, first year student on the MFA Creative Practice, recreates elements of home in the gallery. She weaves a space with audiovisual sculptures that question the notion of progress as advancement through the accumulation of objects and ideas, suggesting that time may be circular.

Honi’s performance works are referred to in the gallery as the provocation of an idea, or premise for an event. The text pieces invite the audience to complete the work by imagining what they would do in the stated situations. Encounters happen both in everyday life, and in the gallery as interactive experiences and conversations.

INSTANCE opens at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre, Australia on March 14th at 6pm.
