Hyperbolic Love — A Response, By Asher Mains on ThIS Blog

Hyperbolic Love Asher Mains

Filtering the panel discussion ‘Flux and Becoming’ between Gaby Cepeda, Rachel Dedman, Andrea Spaziani and Ruth Novaczek through a Deleuzian framework, this response looks at the Internet as a hyperbole of reality and explores the possibilities of hyperbolic love as a reaction.

“The radical act of self love makes a person immune to capitalism’s propaganda of not being enough. Self love leads to empathy and loving others. Love creates fissures because it acts in ways that state or capitalism does not expect. If we talk about the internet and communities in the language of love we situate the discussion outside of the hands of capitalism.”
