Boston—Magda Biernat (MFA 2011) is now represented by Robert Klein Gallery.

Born in 1978 in Poznan, Poland and currently based in New York City, Magda Biernat is a multimedia artist whose works range from architectural and landscape to conceptual photography and video installations.

Biernat’s most recent project, Adrift, began on a yearlong journey she took from Antarctica to Alaska called “North Via South.” The gallery notes, “Pairing photographs of Antarctic icebergs and abandoned Iñupiat Eskimo hunting cabins, Biernat offers a restrained commentary on the parallel effects of global climate change at opposite ends of the Earth.” “North Via South” was a 2013 monthly feature of the New Yorker’s photo booth blog.

Biernat’s work has been exhibited widely both nationally and internationally. She is the recipient of several awards including a Magenta Foundation Flash Forward (2011), TMC + Kodak Film Grant (2010) and Lucie Award (2009). She earned a BA in photography from Wielkopolska School of Photography in Poznan (2002) before matriculating at Transart.

Established in 1980, Robert Klein Gallery specializes in photography.
