This past weekend Transart faculty member Laura Gonzalez performed in SisGo, a dance performance piece produced by the Scottish Dance Theatre for the contemporary art space Tramway in Glasgow.

On the nights of Friday May 9 and Saturday May 10, Gonzalez joined over 30 dancers from the Scottish Dance Theatre and the greater Glasgow community in transforming Tramway into an dynamic, pulsating discothèque. Bathed in the glow of neon lights and against the backdrop of a techno and electronic music score hailing from Berlin, Glasgow and Detroit, the dancers performed pieces from the Scottish Dance Theatre’s current repertoire amongst the audience in a “riot of choreography, music, light and sensation.”

The culmination of the Scottish Dance Theatre’s two-week residency at Tramway, SisGo featured choreography by Fleur Darkin (Artistic Director), costumes by fashion designer Hayley Scanlan, lighting by lighting designer Lucy Carter and music by composer Glyn Perrin.

Visit the Scottish Dance Theatre and Tramway for more information including archival footage.
