I am a sculptor. My interest and desire is the figure, “life” size but abstracted. I use clay and steel to build most work. Ceramics allows me a craft to live and learn and steel allows me to act out the fantasy of supernatural resilience and strength. I live and work on Avery Island, which is a salt dome in Louisiana, USA.

Research Interests:
I am curious about the figure in sculpture and how it speaks to us. I am interested in what can and needs to be said by the figure, at life size, in clay in the contemporary art world. By creating a series of self imposed rules of form and by both pressing my desire to speak through my work and with equal longing know how it is perceived, I wish to acquire an understanding of the influence the figure can command and what the most effective and coherent way to use that power is.
