Ti Student Mariana Rocha performs at Museum Memorial Minas Gerais Vale

Working the questions of sacrifice and body’s ruin, Mariana stands facing a 1,80 x 0,60 meter mirror. It has the shape of a tomb’s lid that would fit Mariana’s body. The mirror has no frame and stands on the ground leaning against her forehead. They weigh approximately the same and Mariana holds the mirror on her face for 3 hours. They both stand still for the whole time. Her eyes only see her eyes, regardless of all the images created on the mirror, and all the people surrounding her. Through a point of exhaustion, the mirror and Mariana hold each other. Tomb and vanity. Finitude and the condition of impermanence.
