Brazilian artist, immersed in the poetry of the extemporaneous, a theme which is present in the work Garden of the Extemporaneous, which opens on 6 December at the Morro do Borel, Rio de Janeiro, as part of the Boreart exhibition, under the curation of Luis Camillo Osório.
Gabriela’s work over the last decade have explored the relationship between nature, urban space, and the temporal dimension. She embraces the unencompassable through video, photography, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, performance, and interventions.
On the one hand, the Boreart show sees museums and galleries occupying unconventional spaces, like the homes of the residents of the Morro do Borel in Rio de Janeiro. On the other hand, the works in this exhibition reach into the eternal place of art: life.
