Transart alumna Magda Biernat selected as one of the 50 best emerging talents of 2015
LensCulture is a photography network and online magazine about contemporary photography in art, media, politics, commerce and popular cultures worldwide.
The 50 accomplished photographers were selected as the best emerging talents from a very large pool of submissions received from photographers in 112 countries. A jury of international photography experts chose to recognize these photographers for their brilliant range of creativity, photographic expertise, fluency in the visual medium, and abilities to tell captivating stories in compelling ways.
Magda Biernat is a contemporary art photographer specializing in architecture and interiors and is the former photo editor of Metropolis Magazine. She received her MFA in New Media from Transart Institute in Berlin and New York.
Her photographs have been published in, among others, the New Yorker, the New York Times, Interior Design, Wallpaper, Metropolis, Dwell and Afar. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally with exhibitions in Poland, Belgium, France, Canada, The Philippines, Taiwan and the United States. She is a recipient of awards such as the Lucie Foundation Awards, Kodak Film Grant, Magenta Foundation and The Friends of Melina Mercouri Foundation Award. Her work is represented by Robert Klein Gallery in Boston and Clic Gallery in New York City.
The winners’ work will be exhibited at SF Camerawork with an opening reception onAugust 28th.
