Transart Faculty Nicolas Estevez presents at Transnational Hispaniola at Rutgers University

A pioneering conference and collective effort—the second in a series of three conferences that began in Santo Domingo in 2010—seeks to address Haitian and Dominican realities as lived and negotiated inside the island shared by both nations and peoples as well as in their respective diasporas.

Hosted by Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey and organized by the Center for Latino Arts and Culture and the Transnational Hispaniola Collective, the conference will showcase a stellar cast of emerging and established artists, academics, students, and practitioners committed to social justice and to a better understanding and communication about the challenges faced and shared by Haitians and Dominicans.
